Los Altos Pool: Albuquerque Pool Session is on
Wednesday night from 8:00-10:00pm.

Albuquerque boaters: Pool Session has resumed at Los Altos Pool on Wednesday nights from 8:00-10:00pm. The pool is located in the sports complex at Eubank and Lomas between the softball fields and the skate park.

There has been some discussion on ways to liven up the sessions and stimulate attendance including activities like kayak waterpolo and sponge tag. Please let Sara Traub know what you think of this or if you have any ideas.

The price for AWC/ACA members remains at $4. However, the price for non-members has increased to $10. FYI, the entire $10 goes to ACA for insurance. None of the money even goes to AWC to help cover the pool rental fee, just so you know.

The Adobe Whitewater Club (AWC) now associated with the American Canoe Association (ACA) as a Paddle America Club.

If you are a member of the of the AWC (and NOT already a member of the ACA), please consider also joining the ACA. Note you will save money by joining the AWC and ACA, as a family membership.

The purpose of the Paddle America Club program is to promote joint membership in both your local club (AWC) and the ACA. This provides you with a paddling presence both in NM and nationally. We suggest you also join the ACA, but this is optional. Note ACA Paddle America membership rates are discounted $10 from the normal associated rates thru this program. (Individual is $20 instead of $30; Family is $25 instead of $45).
AWC – One year of: Flipline; access to club activities; support local club
ACA – one full year of ACA membership privileges

Please see the attached application form to apply.

Please see the ACA web site for more information.

The July 18th 2003 club meeting with Tom Martin on the  Colorado River Management Plan in Grand Canyon National Park was both informative on the canyon and canyon politics and showed some beautiful pictures in his slide show. For more information please check out River Runners for Wilderness web:

To find some beautiful scenery, while in the canyon refer to Tom's book: Day Hikes From The River: A guide to 100 hikes from camps on the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park.
