Trip Reports If you have paddling stories (or rowing stories, if you're a rafter) you're dying to tell and pictures you're willing to share, send them for publication on the AWC web site and we'll do our best to make you famous (or infamous whichever). As with most river stories, strict adherence to the facts is optional. I promise to return photos within a week, and that editing will be a painless process. Send by e-mail to pcoha@bigfoot.com. Catamarans from kayaks? I built a catamaran using 2 perception dancer kayaks and a small sport tramp avail. at most sports stores. I used nylon webbing to attach the pontoon/kayaks to the sport tramp. I had my son kid test this design. I essentially have a kataraft. By lashing a kayak paddle to the tramp you can steer. I still need a windsurfer sail and leeboards. I also created computer simulations of the catamaran. This may interest you. See attachments for detailed info. OpenGl is the de facto standard in gaming and 3D graphics design. I have installed it and used it to create several kayak models. The models are simple but will give you an idea of what is possible. You may want to use this with kids by designing kayaks and learning trig. A game engine could be modified to give 3D game quality to canoe and kayak simulations. This might be a great project for boat designers or youth groups.
