Anecdotes and Very Short Stories

"C" is for . . . Catsup

We pulled our six rafts into the boat eddy at Phantom Ranch, tied up and headed up the trail to the Canteen for water, a candy bar and maybe a cold beer. Rodney volunteered to hang out in the shade near the boats while we were gone. When we came back, he had the following story for us.

Another private group pulled in next to our boats, and as they were preparing to head up the trail, one of their group noticed the large 20MM rocket box in one of our rafts that we used to carry kitchen stuff like spices, cooking oil, sugar, coffee, syrup, etc. On top of the box was a piece of duct tape that had "CONDIMENTS" written on it with a black marker pen. "My God!", one of the group exclaimed. "Look at that box of condoms they have! Who ARE these guys?"
