Boating Skills Intermediate Whitewater Clinics – June 29th

Saturday classes (Meet Taos Junction bridge at 9 am)

*

 Beginning Intermediate - You have been on moving water. You know what an eddy turn, peel out and ferry are.
* Intermediate - You are comfortable in class II rapids. You have a solid pool roll and are comfortable with wet exits and T rescues.
* Advance Intermediate - You are comfortable in class III rapids. Have a solid combat roll.
* Playboat - You are comfortable with surfing and stern squirts. Have a very solid combat roll.
* Canoe - You have a canoe or C1 and have been on moving water

Pre-registration required (Contact - Dallas Hill 505-662-9205, jeepster101@comcast.net to reserve a space). Clinic cost is: $25/day + $5 ACA event insurance coverage (covers both days), if you don't have your ACA membership #.

 

General Information about Clinics

Several things for paddlers to know about clinics. You must be an AWC member to participate or make special arrangements with AWC. Bring your own boat, PFD and helmet. Bring your own food, water and camping equipment (most times AWC will provide a camping location). Remember that our certified instructors, and those that we bring in from outside of the club, put a fair amount of their own time and money into maintaining their ACA certification.  If you think they did a good job, offer them a tip or bring them lunch or a beer, if they prefer!
